Trip to Glentunnel

A nice quiet drive in the country, through Darfield, I stopped at the town memorial, some fantastic poetry and stories of their history:


I visited the cemetery at Glentunnel, a massive amopunt of history in some of these lives.

I was visiting a friend at the camping ground, he's there with his family, they have a site close to the cricket ground. It's an amazingly peaceful and relaxing place, I wish I ccould have stayed longer. Apparently it gets pretty crowded over new years, but there were only a handful of campers there yesterday.

A little piece of kiwi paradise, just 40 min drive from Christchurch!

So, there are at least two people in New Zealand who like traipsing through graveyards reading headstones. You and Alastair should swap stories sometime.

My interest was probably more to the photographic end of the reasoning behind visiting the graveyard...
